Out of all the seats I chose
the one near you,
knowing we’d soon be friends.

Days pass before we exchange numbers,
leading us text
daily.

We went to homecoming
where we nearly froze but,
it was one of the best nights.

You gave me,
the universe,
and a scarf I still wear.

It has only been two years,
since I sat near you,
yet feels like a lifetime
of knowing you.
