Truth Slips

Words slip my lips — perhaps
too soon, stinging like a bee
leaving pain within.

Astonishing relief within,
No regrets to hold me back,
Giving the truth finally
Elevates my thoughts not
Reaching for an apology anymore.

Words slip my lips — honesty
Leaves an open wound
Too soon to heal.
