143.

There they met for the first time.

She knew he was about to change her world.

Alone they talked, smiled, laughed –

Without a care.

There he picked her up –

For once she wasn’t scared.

She gave him her 143 that day,

He wept happiness –

Something he lost a long time ago.

They met at a park and have loved ever since.

Love

Those dainty words
twirl and dance
between my eyes.

I’ll say it today,
I’ll say it tomorrow,
I love – you.

Sweaty palms, speedy heart,
unable to calm the storm
as you glide towards me.

Your smile grows wide,
melting my heart.

The world sits in
silence, now’s my chance.

I……I…..I love…..
I love you!

Lost In Time

There we danced together
like flower petals falling
off their stem.

Gracefully entangled,
in each others arms.

There we danced together
beneath the moon light
as stars fell from the night sky.

Floating above the sea,
twisting round n round.

There we danced together
lost in time.

Love for Him

There you lay
Soundly asleep,
nights like
these are my favorite.
Honey isn’t as sweet
as this.
Every sun rise
you’re by my side,
my partner in crime.
You’ve saved
this damsel
in distress more
than once.
My life changed
for the better
with you in it.

Jingle

That familiar jingle played

over and over sending
me back.

To where we first met
in the cramped elevator
on the 32nd floor.

You were like a lost
puppy looking for
your way in the
Big apple.

I offered my hand
and you never let go,
until that fateful day
when i left you behind.

My love for you
echos in the wind,
dear don’t forget me.

Nerves

Each day I place
words on a page
wanting them
to say more than
I can show you.
Those words are
large, complex,
and lose the
translation.
My scrambled thoughts
never seem to put
the right words
together.
Today,
I share with
you my simple
thoughts:
I love you.

Dear Child

There’s no guarantee
that you’ll succeed.
But the mountains
will keep growing.
Don’t give up
failing is apart of life.

Sometimes you’ll scrape your knee,
loose something you love,
or have a bad day.
Don’t you worry dear
good days still lie ahead
Don’t lose sight
of the light within

You’ll find someone you love
with all your heart.
Butterflies may rise,
your knees may chatter
that’s what they call love.

Dear child,
there are things in life,
you may never understand.
Know that my love for you
may not be seen like
the autumn wind but you can feel it.
May my love for you
echo forever and beyond.

I wrote this during my night class as we were reviewing for our final exam. This is truly dedicated to my niece (the one in the featured image). She is 6 years old now; From day one she has been my world and I have been hers.
