Appreciation

Let me cut straight to the heartfelt stuff — Life is short. Yes some days seem to drag on much longer than needed while others seem to go by in an instant. However, when added up and looked back upon life is short.

There never seems to be enough time to say the things we should have said or done, yet there was. We let time slip by with mind numbing tasks that probably didn’t deserve the extra devotion.

Its when moment’s of impact that shake our roots, make us reevaluate our priorities. Typically happens when we lose something big or death is lurking in the shadows. Life is short.

Let this serve as a reminder to you that we need to show appreciation and value to the things that mean most to us. Recently, I purchased pizza for a couple of my colleagues who are working around the clock to ensure that my department is getting the most up to date information. They are one of the few people still in office since March!

The time is now to show appreciation to those around you. It can be a simple thank you text message, note card, etc. Just show the people you care about some loves.

So this ones for you. Thank you to my readers, for taking time out of your day to like, comment and/or share my blog. It does mean the world to me that people actually read what I write.

First draft

Articulating words has never been
so challenging.

Brilliant articles fill my feed
my work now inferior.

Collation of words
singled out one by one.

Diminishing at my fingertips
this poem is getting worse.

Expressing poorly composed
and formidable imagery.

Gambling my chances of
becoming a number one hit.

Kindled by uncertainty
losing my grip with reality.

Raged with fury,
each paper shredded.

Dare I be ignorant
of my jargon.

Frantically I salvage
lines of wisdom for
tomorrow’s
attempt.

So I attempted to do an A-Z poem, where I must use a word beginning with all 26 letters of the alphabet. I made it 15 words only 11 more to go. Looking for some inspiration? Why not give this a go on your blog.

Day 23 | Books

Since I’ve started working from home there are some perks to the job. The obvious ones are: relaxed attire, making your own lunches, no pesky co-workers/boss lurking around, you’re at home but I think one of the better perks to come out of this is the commute. That’s right, I said commute.

I still awake at the same prior to working from home; however, I no longer have to drive to work which saves me up to 2 hours of time. At first, I was watching a T.V. show on Hulu or Netflix but then that was mundane for those 2 hours. Now, I’m reading my books. I’m finding myself wanting to read more often than watch a movie or T.V. show. Which reinforces my goal for 2020: read more books.

Here are the books I’ve read so far:

I’ve also joined a book club which has been quite fun as I am able to discuss and connect with people without physically being in the same room, because you know house arrest. (Oh which has been extended for my area until the end of April).

Book Recommendations:

The Last Lecture by Randy Pasuch
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
A Child called ‘It’ by Dave Pelzer
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Mason
